Dr. Dalia Hafiz holds a Ph.D. and a master’s degree from the School of Architecture and Design (A+D) at Virginia Tech, USA. During her studies, she was honoured with the Best Research Award twice and received the prestigious Richard Kelly Grant for excellence in lighting research.
Dr. Hafiz has extensive teaching experience in architecture and interior design, having taught at universities in the US, Egypt, and the UAE. From 2017 to 2022, she was a faculty member at Al-Ghurair University in Dubai, where she served as Program Coordinator and later as Head of the Architecture Program. She is currently an Assistant Professor at Ajman University.
Her research interests span several interdisciplinary areas, including the intersection of architectural education and professional practice. She also investigates daylighting dynamism and its impact on human comfort, with applications in transit stations, wayfinding, design for the visually impaired and elderly, and energy-efficient technologies. Additionally, her research explores the implications of smart technologies, such as autonomous vehicles, on urban environments and their residents.
Dr. Hafiz is dedicated to advancing sustainable and innovative design solutions through her research and teaching.
